Why?
What are we trying to do here? And why even do it at all?
What are we trying to do here? And why even do it at all?
We are here now to make things that go against most everything we see today. No algorithms to guide us in the 'right' direction. Nothing perfect, and nothing made to sell or get ahead in any way shape or form. The work being done through this publication will always strictly be made from our/my love for the outdoors and the things that surround this mindset.
Enjoy Being. This sentiment is the ethos of everything I hope to capture through words and images. We as humans are never in control. We may feel like we have all of the power and the ability to change anything we desire - and we are doing a pretty damn good job at doing everything we can to prove we can take power over this planet. But, when push comes to shove, we are just here living amongst each other in a place we clearly do not know as much about as we think. The point of us here now is to Be.
We were never designed to do the things we do day in and day out, and through this publication we will do our best to portray some of the simpler things, while of course also touching on the things we all need to hear and talk about. We are here to make the type of thing I always wished was available. Something to share in the love for the outdoors. Something without a constant barrage of advertisements trying to get a naturally consumeristic audience to continue to spend money on things. Something that is truly about spending time on this Earth. The Earth we all have to share.
What is it about social media now that is just so lifeless. Nothing is true on any of them any more and it is becoming impossible to find anything you actually want to see. Blah, blah, blah. We've heard this plenty of times at this point, but I do think we can move focus away from what big tech companies want us to do. They need us to spend every second of boredom staring down at our glowing screens. Filling every waking second with something feeding the mind so we don't ever have to think.
But let me leave you with this. There is still time to think. There may not be much time left, but all I can hope for is a world where we continue to think again, where we forget about algorithms persuading one subject over another because they think they know you best. How will anyone find this strange website, I have no idea. Tell your friends, share a link, buy a copy of the magazines whenever they begin to roll out. If you want to Enjoy Being again, follow along. ¯\(ツ)/¯
